A UCFB graduate has been talking to us about his experience working as social media manager at Sutton United.

Aaron Bennis, a BA (Hons) Football Business and Media alumnus from UCFB Wembley, started out as an intern at Gander Green Lane before soon being promoted to media manager.

Aaron told us how excited he is to have this role so soon after graduating.

Speaking about this opportunity, he said: “This feels especially exciting. Although my graduation ceremony took place in January, I finished university back in June and have been job searching ever since. I am buzzing to finally get that opportunity.”

As part of his role, Aaron manages the social media accounts of the club, and works with the wider team in content creation, from photography to press releases and video content to player interviews.

In addition, he has also been involved in the club’s academy and women’s sides during his time so far.

When asked about his university experience, Aaron said: “My time at UCFB was on the most part a positive one, as I got to study a subject that I am passionate about.

“It’s an experience that I don’t regret having and I am proud to be able to put UCFB on my CV.”

He added: “UCFB stands out because it specialises in sport and gives students the chance to channel their passion into their studies. By setting up campus at Wembley Stadium, it gives potential new students the additional excitement of being able to travel to a football stadium day to day.”

He finished: “The strongest advice I can give is to try and gain as much experience as you can whilst studying towards your degree.

“With so many organisations looking for experience, it is something that could prove to make or break your potential career.”
