UCFB student shares the benefits of applying for a scholarship

A UCFB student has been talking to us about the fantastic opportunities and experiences granted to her for receiving one of our scholarships.

Rachel Magill, who studies BA (Hons) Football Business and Media at UCFB, applied for and received a scholarship to go alongside her studies.

This allowed her to partake in many wonderful opportunities, such as this April, when she will be travelling to UCFB’s Miami Campus as part of a global sports summit.

“I will be able to network with people and understand the American sports environment,” she said.

“My Scholarship has allowed me to access courses and experiences that will help me within my future employment.

“Don’t be afraid to be yourself, and apply to Scholarships that you think could benefit you. Read all the criteria and talk about how you meet that in your application.”

Applications for UCFB’s scholarships for 2025 are now open. These have a wide variety of target audiences, including:

• UCFB Women in Sport Scholarship
• UCFB Social Mobility and Inclusion Scholarship
• UCFB Elite Athlete Scholarship

UCFB’s scholarship schemes are designed to encourage students to enhance their time studying with us and graduate with more than just their university degree. Available at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels of study, we are committed to enhancing the employability of all students accessing higher education.

These initiatives not only offer students the chance to gain a number of individual skills that will enhance their CV but also increase employment prospects and enhance their overall experience.

This can be through financial assistance, mentorship, overseas experiences, work placement opportunities and many more factors.

UCFB’s many scholarships are open for anybody applying for one of our degree courses tailored to the football and wider sports industry.
