Several UCFB coaching students were fortunate to have a Football League first team coach come in for a workshop and guest lecture.
Dave Conlon, first team coach at League One club Stockport County, visited the UCFB Manchester students at their Belle Vue facility, offering professional insight into the team’s tactics so far this season.
Dave spoke with the students, taking them through how the Hatters’ coaching staff manage the build-up to a matchday, looking at such tactics as opposition analysis.
UCFB BA (Hons) Football Coaching and Talent Development lecturer Rob Carlisle said: “We’re very pleased to have had Dave talk to our Third Year students about how they implement opposition analysis within the first team set up at the club, and how they turn that into practical coaching sessions.
“This is really useful for the students on this module of Tactics and Strategies, as their first assessment is heavily linked with this.”
Dave then said, speaking about his talk with the students: “I’m delighted to have been invited here by UCFB today, where I can share the practices we do at the club in analysis, and opposition analysis in particular.
“We can share our ideas and processes with students, which they can then take and apply to their learning, as well as any future assignments.”
UCFB has a wide range of sports coaching-related degree courses, available at both UCFB Manchester and UCFB Wembley. Click here to view them and find out more.
