UCFB is delighted to be welcoming Wes Morgan to our Manchester Campus as the 2024-25 Welcome Week guest speaker.

Wes, who won the Premier League as captain in the historic 2015-16 season for Leicester City, will join UCFB at our Manchester Campus on Monday, September 23, to mark the start of Welcome Week.

Wes is joining us through our partnership with the League Managers Association, which offers our students incredible industry insight with guest speaker sessions from ex-footballers, managers and broadcasters.

Throughout his playing career, Wes made more than 750 professional appearances, earning 30 international caps for Jamaica in the process.

He started playing at hometown club Nottingham Forest, where he earned promotion from League One, and remained a stalwart in Forest’s Championship squad before a 2012 move to fellow Midlands club Leicester City.

While at Leicester, he captained the side to their promotion to the Premier League, and then after surviving relegation in 2014-15, won the Premier League title as captain in 2015-16.

He then stayed on at Leicester City before retiring after an FA Cup Final victory in 2021.

Wes is also no stranger to UCFB, as after having retired from his professional playing career, he chose to look at the business side of the football industry, enrolling on UCFB’s MSc Sports Directorship executive education course.

Meanwhile, at our Wembley Campus, Arsenal and Soccer Saturday icon Paul Merson will be speaking to our London-based students.
