At UCFB we are dedicated to actively engaging our female students. We achieve this through various events such as our Women in Sport conference, and our Women in Sport series.

UCFB hosts successful Women in Sport Conference at Old Trafford

The Women in Sport Networking Breakfast held earlier this year, offered guests the chance to network with students and sports industry professionals.

Attendees also had the opportunity to hear from inspirational panellists, who shared their experiences, challenges, and triumphs in the world of sport, before actively discussing the developments and changes within women's sport. This allowed individuals both starting out in industry and established to provide thoughts on their experiences and future roles within sport.

During the Women in Sport Series, students have the opportunity to enhance their professional development and confidence with masterclasses from industry experts, covering themes such as confidence, goal setting, and overcoming barriers. Further to this, students have the opportunity to network with other students, staff, alumni, and external guests. This series continues to grow and is heavily directed by the voice of the students.

Running women's sports events is crucial for creating an inclusive space to discuss topics like; barriers faced by women in sports, the development of women's sports, ways to break down these barriers, and sharing experiences. It also provides role models for aspiring female athletes.
